MESSAGE TO CLIENTS
If you struggle with chronic pain of any kind, including the pain of depression, intrusive thoughts, or anxiety, I can help. Through my own journey with eczema, I have learned about the mind-body connection and how investigating and processing past traumas and current habits can free us from discomfort and dysfunction. If you’re looking to improve your health, create a life worth living, or to learn skills and techniques to make your mind more effective and efficient, I’d love to be your partner and guide. In an atmosphere of warmth and caring, we will identify and meet your goals together. I have always been passionate about how the mind works. As an undergraduate at Duke University, I spent summers doing research in Cognitive Psychology, but it wasn’t until I was in my forties that I went back to school for Social Work at NYU and became a therapist with a specialty in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My experience treating clients with depression, anxiety, OCD, bi-polar, borderline, and ADHD led me to expand my approach to incorporate the tools of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and more recently, Internal Family Systems (IFS). Ultimately, these therapeutic tools must be used in a context of trust and connection, and that is where our healing relationship will begin. I look forward to speaking with you! EDUCATION
