MESSAGE TO CLIENTS
I use compassion, curiosity and openness to help provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you’ll be able to share your experiences and feel truly heard, supported, accepted, and validated. I use a cognitive behavioral approach to help clients gain awareness and insight into how their thinking errors and coping strategies impact their growth, well-being and relationships. In my own past experiences with depression, I found I was prone to some common but powerful thinking errors, keeping me stuck in low moods and unhelpful behaviors. We all experience these, and noticing them can be a powerful first step towards more balanced, realistic and adaptive thinking, which in turn will positively impact moods, behaviors and overall well being. I believe that all behavior makes sense in context, which is why behavioral change can be so challenging. Additionally, we often attach negative self judgments about our unhelpful behaviors, which can fuel or maintain low moods and demotivate us. Identifying and gaining a deeper understanding of all components of behaviors, both adaptive and maladaptive, can help us get clear on what derails our motivation and why we inherently resist change. A collaborative relationship is key for growth and change. During the process of exploration and change, you’ll have my full support and encouragement as you use your autonomy and agency to empower you. Additionally, I’ll help you gain self compassion, a key skill for the reduction of suffering. I look forward to working together to help you achieve your goals!
