Kim Harounian Zaga, Therapist (she/her/hers)

Approach: Hi, my name is Kim. I am passionate about helping people who are struggling with depression and anxiety. After working as a Crisis Counselor, I found that so many people are experiencing day-to-day feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and worry, and I became deeply interested in helping people feel happier, more productive, calmer, and less anxious.
If you are suffering from depression and/or anxiety, I welcome the opportunity to partner with you on your journey to becoming a more fulfilled and happier version of you, so you can focus on your goals and aspirations and feel good about yourself. Whether you are challenged with issues related to relationships, work, life transitions, or just getting through the day, I will work with you collaboratively in a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment and will always support you with compassion, trust, and empathy.
Background: Kim is completing her Master’s degree from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. She graduated summa cum laude from The University of Pennsylvania in 1995 and beta gamma sigma from Columbia Business School in 2000. She has had previous careers in finance and real estate. A long-time resident of NYC, Kim lives with her husband and six-year-old son in Manhattan and has two grown stepchildren.
Clinical Experience and Training: Kim worked as a Crisis Counselor working with people of all ages and backgrounds experiencing crisis situations, often struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. She is currently working under the supervision of Noah Clyman, LCSW-R, A-CBT, the founder and director of NYC Cognitive Therapy. She has also received training at The Beck Institute in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
