Approach: Jessica uses compassion, curiosity and openness to help provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can share their experiences and feel heard, supported, accepted, and validated. She uses a cognitive behavioral approach to help clients gain awareness and insight into how their negative and distorted thoughts and their coping strategies impact their growth, well-being and relationships, and to help them work towards more adaptive and effective ways of thinking and behaving. She believes a collaborative relationship is key for growth and change, and she promotes client empowerment through client autonomy and agency.
Background: Jessica completed her Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at NYU Steinhardt.
Training: Jessica has received CBT training from the Beck Institute, as well as extensive training Feeling Good Institute in the areas of social anxiety, OCD, habits and addictions, deliberate practice, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and depression. She is a level 2 certified TEAM therapist. She also has completed trainings in DBT and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She currently works under the supervision of Noah Clyman, LCSW-R, A-CBT, the founder and director of NYC Cognitive Therapy.
